This policy is designed to be plain English. It is still a legal document, so please read it carefully and contact us if you have questions about your data.
1. Who this policy is for
This privacy policy explains how Avid TCG Data handles personal information when you visit the website, create an account, use collection tools, subscribe to Pro, use scanner features, join community features, contact us, report missing items, or take part in the affiliate programme.
We do not sell your personal information. We use personal information to run the service, keep it secure, provide features you choose to use, process payments, send account messages, and understand how the product is working.
2. Information we collect
Account information: name, username, email address, password hash, email verification status, login method, account role, subscription status, ban status, and security information.
Profile information: avatar, banner, public profile slug, display name, city-level location where you choose to provide it, profile visibility, follower relationships, featured items, binders, public collection settings, and profile activity.
Collection information: cards, sealed products, quantities, variants, grades, conditions, binders, privacy settings, watchlist entries, wants, trade signals, purchase prices, sale records, notes, alerts, and value snapshots.
Scanner and catalogue information: uploaded or camera-captured images, scan results, OCR or matching evidence, missing card or sealed product reports, source links, set data, product metadata, and correction notes.
Affiliate information: affiliate application details, referral codes, campaign links, referral clicks, referral cookies, referred signups, commission records, payout preferences, payout history, and email preferences.
Payment information: subscription plan, provider customer IDs, subscription IDs, checkout status, payment status, discount/referral metadata, renewal status, refund or chargeback events, and billing provider webhooks. Full card details are handled by payment providers, not by us.
Technical information: IP address, device and browser details, cookies, session identifiers, security logs, analytics events, error logs, page views, search activity, and anti-spam checks.
3. How we use information
We use your information to create and protect accounts, let you sign in, show your collection, save preferences, run public profiles when enabled, process subscriptions, send alerts, manage affiliate referrals, respond to support messages, improve the catalogue, detect abuse, and keep the website working.
We use collection and market data to calculate charts, set progress, value summaries, AI forecasts, market intelligence, alerts, and profile stats. Private collection data is used to provide your private account features and is not sold to advertisers.
4. Legal bases
Where UK GDPR applies, our legal bases can include contract, because we need information to provide the service you request; legitimate interests, because we need to keep the service secure, improve features, prevent fraud, and understand usage; consent, for optional choices such as certain cookies or marketing messages where required; and legal obligation, where we must keep records or respond to lawful requests.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and similar storage for sign-in sessions, security, preferences, affiliate attribution, referral discounts, analytics, anti-spam checks, and payment handoff flows.
Affiliate referral cookies can last up to 30 days so a referred signup can be credited if the visitor comes back later in that window. Session and security cookies are needed for core account features. Analytics and third-party cookies may depend on your settings, browser, and the tools enabled on the site.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may stop login, checkout, scanner, alerts, or other account features from working correctly.
6. Public information
If you make your profile, binders, collection items, wants, trade listings, or location public, that information may be visible to other users and visitors. Public pages may be indexed by search engines unless we restrict them.
You can change visibility settings where the product provides those controls. If you set your profile to private, visitors should see that the profile is private rather than seeing your collection data.
7. Emails and notifications
We may email you for account verification, password resets, security notices, subscription updates, price alerts, collection alerts, missing report updates, affiliate updates, payout updates, and support replies.
Some messages are required for account or billing purposes. Optional alert or affiliate emails can usually be changed from your account settings where those controls are available.
8. Sharing information
We share information with trusted providers only where needed to run the service. This can include hosting and database providers, email providers, payment providers, analytics tools, anti-spam/security providers, image or file storage, OAuth providers such as Google, and marketplace or affiliate link services.
We may also share information if required by law, to protect the service or users, to investigate abuse, or as part of a business transfer such as a sale, merger, or restructuring.
9. International transfers
Some providers may process information outside the UK or the country where you live. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as contracts, standard contractual clauses, adequacy rules, or provider compliance measures.
10. How long we keep information
We keep information for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain account records, handle billing, prevent fraud, comply with legal duties, resolve disputes, and keep useful catalogue or market records.
If you delete or close your account, we may remove or anonymise account data where practical, but we may keep records needed for security, billing, affiliate accounting, legal compliance, or platform integrity. Public content may remain cached or indexed for a time after removal.
11. Security
We use practical technical and organisational measures to protect information, including access controls, hashed passwords, provider security controls, anti-spam tools, and logging. No online service can be guaranteed completely secure, so please use a strong password and protect your account.
12. Children
Avid TCG Data is not intended for children who are too young to consent to online services in their country. If you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate permission, contact us.
13. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of your personal information. You may also have the right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
If UK GDPR applies, you can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office if you are unhappy with how your information is handled. We would appreciate the chance to help first, so please contact us if something looks wrong.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy as the service, legal requirements, providers, or features change. The latest version will be posted on this page with the updated date.
15. Contact
